Equipment
Clients sometimes inquire about the equipment that I use on my photography assignments and projects. I use the best equipment I can afford to be able to deliver professional results. Because of the small photography market in Suriname, I try to keep as much gear on hand as possible to be able to take on a wide variety of photography assignments.
When I started my professional photography career I started with gear from Sony. It took a while before Sony got in the DSLR business after buying Konica/Minolta and before that happened I switched to using Canon cameras and lenses. Below is a listing of some of the gear I currently use:
2× Canon EOS 5D Mark III.
Canon EF 15mm f/2.8 Fisheye, Canon EF 8-15mm f/4L Fisheye, Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II, Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II, Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II, Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS, Canon EF 180mm f/3.5L Macro, Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS, Canon EF 50mm f/1.2L, Canon EF 85mm f/1.2L II, Canon EF 24mm f/1.4L II, Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L, Canon EF 135mm f/2L.
A number of Canon 600EX-RT Speedlights, Canon ST-E3 Trigger, Canon GP-E2 GPS, a collection of light modifiers (softboxes, umbrellas, beauty dishes, reflectors etc.), a Wacom Intuous 4 tablet, light tents, panoramic heads, specialized macro/micro photography gear, filters and a whole lot of other accessories.
Depending on the project I’m working on, I may also use a combination of the following software:
- Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Lightroom and Canon Utilities (DPP etc.).
- Photomatix Pro for HDR photography.
- PTGui and krpano for panoramic photography.
